Bad Influences Program Terms

These terms apply to everyone in the Bad Influences affiliate program run by Badly Behaved Books ("we", "us"). By applying or sharing your link or code, you agree to them.

1. Joining

• You must be 18 or older.
• Applications are reviewed by hand. We may approve or decline any application.
• We currently ship within Canada only, so the program is designed for creators with a Canadian audience.

2. Your link and code

• Approved affiliates receive a personal link and discount code. Your followers save 15% on their first order.
• Codes can't be combined with other offers unless we say so.
• Your code is for your own audience. Please don't post it on coupon or deal sites.

3. Commission

• Bad Influence: 10% on store orders and 20% on a new subscriber's first box payment.
• Very Bad Influence (10 or more referred orders in a calendar month): 15% on store orders and 25% on a new subscriber's first box payment, for that month.
• Worst Influence (25 or more referred orders in a calendar month): 20% on store orders and 30% on a new subscriber's first box payment, for that month.
• Commission is calculated on the amount the customer paid for products, after discounts and before taxes and shipping.
• Orders are credited to the last affiliate link clicked within 30 days, or to the code used at checkout.
• No commission is paid on your own orders, on refunded, cancelled or returned orders, or on orders we reasonably believe are fraudulent.

4. Payouts

• Commission is held for 30 days to cover returns, then paid through our affiliate platform.
• Payout timing, method and any platform fees are shown in your affiliate dashboard.
• You are responsible for any taxes on what you earn.

5. Perks and gifted boxes

• Welcome kits, free boxes and giveaway boxes are offered while available and may change. Free boxes for tier perks are sent for the month you qualify.
• Founding Bad Influences approved before launch receive their first box free once we open.

6. How to promote

• Always disclose that you earn commission, for example with #ad or #affiliate, in line with Canada's Competition Bureau guidance on influencer marketing.
• Keep content playful, suggestive and platform friendly. Never post explicit content featuring our products or name.
• Be kind. Our brand celebrates pleasure without shame, and we never speak badly about other brands, readers or authors.
• Don't bid on our brand name in paid search ads, pretend to be us, or make claims about products we haven't made.
• Don't send spam or post your link where it isn't welcome.

7. Content

You own what you create. By joining, you allow us to share and repost content you make about Badly Behaved Books on our website and social channels, with credit to you. Paid ads using your content will always be agreed with you first.

8. Ending the partnership

You can leave at any time. We may remove an affiliate who breaks these terms, and any commission earned through rule breaking won't be paid. Commission already confirmed will still be paid.

9. Changes

We may update these terms or commission rates. We'll give you at least 14 days' notice by email before changes take effect.

10. The fine print

Affiliates are independent creators, not employees or agents of Badly Behaved Books. These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and Canada.
